Giuliani, Traveltotaste, "I tell you about the changing world of food"

Giuliani, Traveltotaste, "Vi parlo del mondo del cibo che cambia"

Journalist and author looking for stories to tell, Federica Giuliani travel, taste and observe. This is how he summarizes his work and his passion that he has channeled into his blog Traveltotaste dedicated to his travel experiences, narrated through the aromas and flavors of food. In this very special year, of "forced stop", as a blogger she continued to observe and note what was happening around her with an eye to the world of catering.

How did you deal with this pandemic and the consequent great difficulty in the restaurant sector with your blog? Have you somehow changed your usual narrative? Have you carried out any particular initiatives to describe this so singular period?

«I tried to give support to the catering sector, talking about delivery and highlighting the initiatives of those who have not stopped completely. I wanted to tell the producers too, but it wasn't possible ».

From your point of view, how do you think the food and catering companies (food companies, but also chefs, restaurants etc) communicated in this period? Are there any initiatives that particularly impressed you and that you wanted to highlight?

«I greatly appreciated those who were able to reinvent themselves by proposing an offer suitable for delivery. I also liked the idea of some bars that, instead of closing, have turned into resales of quality fruit and vegetables ».

And how did your readers react? Have you noticed a greater sensitivity to certain issues related to the world of food? In your opinion, has there been an increase in attention to this sector?

«I believe that, in general, a greater awareness and attention towards what we eat is developing. But there are still too many companies that underestimate the power of correct communication. Living outside Turin, I am pleased to note that new agricultural activities linked to purchasing groups and with direct resale are emerging: a sustainable and convenient way to shop. "

After the pandemic, and when we can finally talk about a restart, how do you think communication in the food sector will change? Which channels should be privileged and which ones have had their day?

«I mainly deal with kitchens from around the world and, in terms of communication, it is still an underdeveloped field. At the moment the most used tool is that of social media, which, thanks to images, helps to better convey the message. But I don't think there are channels that have had their day: everyone has their own audience, the important thing is to understand who you want to reach. However, I believe that certain guides, which year after year always publish the same things, without any obvious research, have become useless. "

Do you have any future projects that you want to anticipate related to your blog or your professional life?

"I have a book (which also deals with food) in search of a publisher and another choir in preparation, on which however there is a strict reserve".
