In the Country of Festivals, a new, different and complementary event

Italy is the country of festivals. According to some estimates, every year, in our peninsula, over 1.200 Festival of cultural character, take place, even if few are those that have a national visibility and many are addressed to a niche public.

Without going to bother the Italian Festival par excellence, at least for the television audience, that of Sanremo, surely the music is among the most gutted topics during these appointments. Music in all its aspects and genres, as well as cinema and literature, with, for example, the Mantua Festival, to which many others are added, including that of Mediterranean literature or that of the Travel literature, just to name a few. Even philosophy, comics, politics and even oriental culture have their own Festivals, often of great tradition.

The milestone of the Italian journalistic festivals is, without doubt, that of Perugia. Born in the 2006, it soon became an essential appointment for professionals in the sector, thanks to a prestigious parterre of guests and a rich program of meetings, debates, interviews, presentations of books, exhibitions, and workshops, which bring together the world of journalism, gods medium, And the communication coming from all over the world. Also the Ferrara Festival, organized starting from the 2007 by the weekly International, was able to create a wide audience, focusing on issues strongly linked to world political and economic current events. Remaining in the Piedmontese territory, one cannot fail to mention the TV and New Media Festival, held every year in Dogliani, in the Cuneo area. A real national laboratory where today's television and that of the future are analyzed and discussed, often opening up new interesting scenarios in the communication landscape.

In the wake of these three major events, not in opposition to but in completion, the idea of ​​the International Festival of Food Journalism, which, from 25 to February 27 2016, will have its first edition in Turin. An event that will bring together different, yet similar worlds, with the ambition to give life to a frank and proactive debate on the innumerable areas closely related to food: from politics to economics, from health to safety, from the trendy kitchen to to tourism. An intriguing challenge that will come alive thanks to the presence of journalists who are experts in the sector, companies, scientists, food producers, press offices, communicators and through a rich proposal of meetings, workshops, seminars and side evening events, in a sort of Outside the Festival.
