Food and ecology at the "At the table of migrants" festival

Cultural biodiversity and migrant cultures. That is how migrant women see art, literature, food and climate change. A change of perspective to judge migrations and the encounter between different realities. All this is the first festival At the table of migrants, of which the Festival of Food Journalism is a technical partner.

The program includes debates, musical concerts, photo exhibitions, drawing workshops, readings, film and documentary screenings, international guests. The appointment is for the 17 September in the Aula Magna of the Cavallerizza Reale (via Verdi 9, Turin).

First of its kind, the Festival on migrant ecologies was designed to raise awareness about citizenship themes of migrant cultures, cultural biodiversity, respect for the environment and its resources. All with a view to sharing and change.

At the table of migrants will see the participation of many guests of national and international fame. Among these: the writer Monique Truong, the expert on migration studies Alessandra Di Maio, Slow Food anthropologist Nazarena Lanza, Simone Cinotto (University of Gastronomic Sciences), Libera Piemonte regional referent Maria Josè Fava, Ubah writers Cristina Ali Fara, Igiaba Scego and Luisa Zhou, the singer Saba Anglana and the musicians Cheikh Fall and Tatè Nsongan, Franco Andreone (Regional Museum of Natural Sciences of Turin), Cristina Giacoma (University of Turin), Luisa Ricaldone (Italian Society of Literates), the singer and activist Olga of Madagascar, the Pequeñas Huellas International Orchestra, and the students of the Vincenzo Gioberti Classical High School in Turin.

The Festival will end with the screening of two documentaries: Pierre Rabhi. My body is the earth (Carola Benedetto and Igor Piumetti, 2012) on the pioneer of agroecology and founder of the Colibrì Movement, and Ten billion. What's on your plate? (Valentin Thurn, 2015) in collaboration with Cinemambiente.
