Organizations and journalists compared to food safety
La Food safety as a meeting point, or at least for dialogue, between organizations, companies and journalists. What should be a common goal, but often is not, is the central theme of the debate "Food security: how it is perceived and how it is communicated", scheduled on Festival of Food Journalism at 14 on Friday 26 February. It starts from a given: citizens are increasingly asking institutions and private operators to learn about food safety in depth. How to respond to this need? What contribution can journalists make?
To try to answer these questions, they will intervene Franca Braga of Altroconsumo, Arnaldo Tinarelli from Camst, Silvia Gallina of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Piemonte, Liguria and Valle d'Aosta, the head of the food safety laboratory of the Chamber of Commerce of Turin, Paolo Vittone, and Pietro Noè of the Ministry of Health. Instead, the meeting will be moderated Mimmo Vita (read his interview here), president of the National Union of Agri-food Journalists (Unaga), who anticipated his thoughts on the subject: "To defend against fraud it is good that people know, that they are informed. Everyone should know what they eat, but also the products of excellence, quality; each of us should know how to distinguish a good product from a poor one. The equation is simple : if you know the products, you buy better and risks less ".
