The Giorgio Bocca Journalism Master among the media partners of the Food Journalism Festival

There will also be the Giorgio Bocca Journalism Master of Turin among the media partners of Festival of Food Journalism. Some students of the course, in fact, will participate in the work with the aim of supporting the communication activity. In addition, the magazine Futura - managed and coordinated by 20 students between 23 and 28 years enrolled in the two-year 2014 / 2016 of the master - will carry out in-depth studies dedicated to the event, its guests and the topics covered.

«I believe that the Food Journalism Festival is an important event for a city like Turin, where food and wine and food culture is at the forefront ». He commented on Director of the Master Renato Rizzo.

The event - as pointed out by Rizzo himself - will be a useful training moment for journalists and other professionals related to food issues. "The topic is cross-cutting and our category must learn to treat it - specifies the director - You should not limit yourself to writing a review of a restaurant, a wine or a label. When dealing with food issues, food and wine must be combined with various journalistic genres. Even with the crime, for example when talking about food seizures ».

Another fundamental aspect is the impact that food-related news has on public opinion: "Journalists must understand that people are very sensitive to this issue. - reflects Rizzo - Everything connected to food falls on our everyday life and also affects health. We live in a society where food is a pervasive element. Just turn on the TV to see many dedicated programs, for all ages. Once it was not so, but today it is fundamental to learn to communicate this theme, because the impact can be really very strong on public opinion ».

Masterfully directed in the past years by the recently deceased Turin journalist Vera Schiavazzi, to which a lecture hall was dedicated, the Giorgio Bocca Journalism Master has reached its sixth edition. Promoted from the University of Turin and by 'Order of Journalists, replaces the period of training provided for by the law to take the state exam and obtain the professional title. "Our boys - explains the director -write articles, make videos, radio, newscasts. They take care of the online newspaper and of the fifteen-year paper, and work on various platforms, collaborating with the editorial offices, for example, La Stampa and La Repubblica».
