The official program of the Festival of Food Journalism

Il program of the first Festival of Food Journalism it was officially announced this morning, during the presentation press conference: debates, lectures, case studies, but also a rich calendar of “off” events and educational to discover the excellence and curiosities of the territory.

From 25 27 to February, in the Aula Magna of the Cavallerizza Reale of Turin, there will be many themes to be developed: from that ethical such as waste and the right to food, addressed both from the point of view of economic journalism and from the point of view of the political one, and how communication affects consumer habits, in the choice of whether or not to drink public water, for example, or in the nutritional education of children. Food also in the sense scientific and health care: from the need to recount the progress of research to that of debunking the "hoaxes" and the useless alarmisms, up to the need to promote an informed consumption, especially in the case of wine, one of the products that most represent the roots and the culture of our territory. Then under the magnifying glass there will be the business: from the market trends of the sector in Europe to the growing phenomenon of food crime. Finally, there will be a focus dedicated to "casual" language of those who write about food and different journalisms, in the era of 2.0 food and wine criticism.

Speakers, journalists, food bloggers, companies, institutions, communicators, universities, scientists ... and even a rapper!

To open the works, on the morning of Thursday 25 February, the inaugural event will talk about "What food policies after expo " with the participation of the mayor of Turin, Piero Fassino, of the President of Slow Food, Carlin Petrini, of Giuseppe Lavazza, vice president of the Lavazza Group, Marco Pedroni, Coop National President, Antonella Pasquariello, president of Camst and of the managers of the main trade associations such as Federalimentare, Coldiretti, UnionAlimentare Turin e Piedmont Land of Perfection Consortium. It will also intervene Antonio Saitta, coordinator of the regional health councilors and a message is expected from Minister for Agricultural Policies Maurizio Martina.

Alongside the actual "works", a wide range of collateral events, between taste and culture. On Thursday evenings 25 and Thursday 26 you can choose between one cooking lesson on allergies and intolerances at the FoodLab Academy, a "Alveritivo" with the Hive that says Yes !, a dinner in the historic Gelateria Pepino it's one show - cooking against waste in the kitchen at the newborn Metropolitan Market.

The day of Saturday 27 will be, instead, dedicated to the educational on the territory, reserved for registered workers. Itineraries to discover Piedmontese excellence by following different threads of taste: from wine, in all its forms, to craft beers, from cheeses to the famous seven cuts of boiled Carrù, from rice-growing to apples, to the inevitable truffle.
