Piedmont Region: with the sponsorship of the Festival, a new promotional initiative for the territory

The Festival of Food Journalism has obtained patronage from Piedmont region, the home of great wines and truffles, chocolate, hazelnut and cheese, specialties known and appreciated all over the world, among the food and wine flags of their territories, including the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, the hills become UNESCO World Heritage Site and visited annually by thousands of tourists.

Piedmont is an effervescent region at an entrepreneurial level: an idea has taken shape here, soon becoming a real movement, whose name is Slow Food and, still here, theUniversity of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, to train gastronomes, new professional figures who acquire knowledge and skills in the agro-food sector and operate by directing the production, distribution and consumption of food towards correct and useful choices to create a sustainable future for the planet.

It is in the food sector that Piedmont has identified the driving force of its development. With this in mind it carries out a careful promotion of food and wine culture, at national and international level, aimed at protecting their excellence and offering them new ways to further growth.

Countless are, for example, the initiatives dedicated to making the individual specificities of the territory known, through festivals, events, festivals and taste itineraries. Among these, it also falls la International Food and Wine Tourism Exchange (BITEG), the most important national event for the communication, promotion and sale of the food and wine tourism product, which annually enhances and promotes those sectors of the Italian and Piedmontese heritage known internationally, together with the excellence of wine, food and tourism products connected to it. The project is also part of this Made in Piedmont, launched for the first time in the 2015, which aims to include the artisan excellences of the territory, including the food ones, within the international tourist circuits, to let people know, today and in person, the trades of today and yesterday , which combine the elegance of ancient traditions with the most modern avant-garde technologies.
