To protect quality food production, the Turin Chamber of Commerce supports the Festival
La Chamber of Commerce of Turin supports the Food Journalism Festival. The presence of the institution, alongside the first edition of the exhibition which intends to tell the world of food communication in all its facets - including economic ones - certifies the value assigned to the event.
For the Turin Chamber of Commerce la protection and enhancement of quality food production represent a primary objective. In addition to administrative activities, such as the estate of the Albi vineyards and the verification of wine production with the Denomination of Origin, the Chamber of Commerce supports the consortia for the protection of products, enhances the wines of the 7 DOC from Turin, promotes the participation of small and medium-sized businesses agri-food companies at sector events, collects and enhances the local food and wine excellences.
The objective of the Chamber of Commerce is to promote the development of the local economy and encourage it through effective interventions.
Forte delle over 227.000 companies operating in the city and province, the Turin Chamber of Commerce expresses the synthesis of the economic interests of the territory, with particular attention given to civil society and the world of consumers.
Particular attention is given to the theme of food counterfeiting, monitored from the provincial observatory that deepens, with professionals and experts, the most important problems, spreading information among citizens, businesses and students to discourage the purchase of non-original products.
Furthermore, the Turin Chamber of Commerce has produced the series "Guide to rights" dedicated to citizens, which also deals with issues related to food, such as counterfeit foods, brands and dominations, food supplements, guaranteed wine, labeling, food waste.
A very articulated activity in defense of the agri-food sector that the Turin Chamber of Commerce also carries out in collaboration with his Chemical Laboratory, the special company that deals with analysis, consultancy and training in the agri-food sector, even in school canteens, and which supports the Chamber of Commerce in the activity of the Labeling and Food Safety Office.
