A "capital" of the food that awaits its Festival

Turin will host the International Festival of Food Journalism. And it could not be otherwise, for the city that has earned, on the field, the title of Italian capital of food and wine and food culture.

Capital, because it is home to many of the main international food-related events, to begin with Terra Madre - Salone del Gusto, which, news of a few days ago, from the 2016 will invade the city center, going to involve some of the most beautiful and fascinating places of the Piedmontese capital. Or, again, of Chocolate, a reference point for all the gourmands and for the confectionery sector, not only Italian.

Turin, on the other hand, is the city of chocolate, with its own Gianduiotto, Its Kremlin and its Bicerin, but so is coffee and ice cream.

It is the beating heart of the entire Piedmontese food and wine tradition, made up of fine wines, formidable cheeses and delicacies with a universal flavor such as, for example, the Alba truffle. An effervescent territory, where an idea took shape, soon becoming a real movement, whose name is Slow Food.

Turin is the city of elegant XNUMXth century cafes and a restaurant - museum, at whose tables Italy was born. It is the breeding ground of brilliant business ideas, exported all over the world, such as Eataly e Grom. It is also the city of food security, thanks to its presence and activity of the Zooprophylactic Institute and its scientists. And, if this is not enough, it is the stage for the countless local markets and the largest open-air market in Europe, Porta Palazzo, where food is always at the center of the scene.

Turin, from February, will also be the city of the first Food Journalism Festival, the new stage of an increasingly rich, interesting and engaging journey.
