Biteg, journeys of taste to Canale d'Alba from 10 November

Forty tour operators coming from all over the world, plus 110 sellers from different regions of Italy. They are the numbers of Biteg, the international food and wine tourism exchange, partner of Festival of Food Journalism. The event is scheduled from 10 to November 14 at the Malabaila Castle in Canale d'Alba, between the Unesco hills. This is the most important Italian communication, promotion and sales event for the tourist-gastronomic product.

The host country of this edition, which will focus on the wine route, will be the United States. But, among the Italian regions, there will also be the institutional presence of Liguria and Lombardy. The novelty of the year, after various editions entrusted to the public, is the involvement of a private partner: Olos Group he was selected with a call for tenders and will co-finance the event for three years and then take it completely up to the 2020. The launch of the international Nice To Meet You platform for the aggregation of buyers and sellers in the food and wine tourism sector is also planned.

The taste travel industry is growing. And in particular the Piedmont hills are among the most loved places by food and wine tourists: in fact many wine lovers and good food go there. In the 2015 they have registered 883 thousand arrivals (+ 4%) and 1,6milioni of overnight stays (+ 3,8%). Most of these are foreigners, with the Swiss in first place followed by the Germans. Among the non-European countries, the United States is growing by 10%.
