Coop, when sustainability moves from the cart

coop Distribute without waste and explain to consumers how to do the same: these are the two concepts on which the philosophy of Coop, main partner of the Festival of Food Journalism and first distribution chain in Italy with its 1.100 stores and hypermarkets and over 8 million members. There are many activities that Coop has carried out in this sense: from the campaigns in the stores to the consumer education program in schools, from donations of unsold food or about to expire to last-minute offers with discounted prices up to 50% for products easily perishable. Alongside these activities, Coop carried out a search - which can be consulted , promising - which shows that in our country there is a sensitivity towards food waste much higher, for example, than in the Northern countries. On the occasion of the Food Journalism Festival, Coop will participate in the inaugural panel It's easy to say sustainable. Environmental impact and waste in the agri-food chain, with its national president Marco Pedroni and the panel scheduled for Thursday 23 starting from the 16.10, entitled Withdrawn from the shelves.
