The themes of the Festival: here is what we will talk about

Talking about food does not mean knowing how to tell about food. And above all it does not mean knowing how to analyze the issues concerning nutrition, waste, health. Exactly how to be a good fork does not mean to know in depth the foods, their origins, their processing, their characteristics and peculiarities.

Explain all this, starting with the analysis of how the media, and therefore information, communicates food, is the goal of Festival of Food Journalism. The program provides two days of meetings, debates, round tables, plus a third "experiential" day dedicated only to journalists. The topics discussed? Nutritional information and agromafie, waste and school meals. But even more specifically the role of the media in communicating food, professional ethics journalists in the food sector, work and the role of food blogger, the dangers of social networks, the new life of gastronomic criticism. These issues will be debated journalists, food bloggers, television and radio hosts, experts and managers of large companies. Compared to the first edition, there will also be international guests. But to have some names, and the detailed program of the two days of meetings, we will have to wait a few more days, that is the date of the presentation of the Festival in a press conference. But let's see more specifically the day by day program. On Thursday, at the inaugural event in the presence of the authorities, there will be discussions on sustainability, of environmental impact and waste in the food chain. We will then continue with an interesting debate on how one incorrect information on food preservation may in the long run bring more waste. In one room we will talk about food and agromafie crimes, the importance of labeling and food alarms generated by the media, but also of food and scientific information. In the other room, space for issues related more to the deontology of journalists. The arguments? The differences between journalists and food bloggers; and their points in common; the transformation of a food blogger into an influencer, the freelance / blogger relationship in an increasingly "social" world. Friday will open with diets and their benefits, to then continue with online food buffaloes, one of the most popular themes and with greater response than last year. We will talk about agriculture and public opinion, to conclude with a reflection on school meals, in a city like Turin from which the parents' legal battle to send their children to school with the so-called "meal from home" to replace the canteen started last summer. In the final rush, after the lunch break on Friday, the Food Journalism Festival will talk about the dangers of the social era, of marches and hidden advertising, of ethics in precarious journalism, of wine journalism, of water waste, of new trends and of food and wine criticism. The more detailed program, with the list of all the speakers, will be revealed directly by the Festival director Massimiliano Borgia on the occasion of the press conference (we talk about it here) Friday February 10 at 11.
