Thinking about food: three days of philosophical reflections on food

It is the "brother" event of the Festival of Food Journalism, since it is organized by the same association. Thinking about food (here the link), the only Italian festival dedicated to food issues seen from a philosophical point of view, returns to Turin with its third edition. The appointment is for Tuesday 25, Thursday 27 and Friday 28 October, therefore in three non-consecutive dates, a Palazzo Ceriana-Mayneri, at the United States 27 Press Circle.

In this edition, under the magnifying glass of philosophy there will be the religion e the economy, in a confrontation between Christian and Muslim dictates in the food sector, which prohibit what to eat, and a Western economic system poised between pure profit and new stimuli given by the spiritual and ethical world. We will also talk about anthropology e nutrition, for an analysis of the intimate and profound reasons that lead to eating disorders, to the point of touching the existing relationships between the idea of ​​beauty and nutrition in various cultures.

Among the speakers, prominent figures such as the internationally renowned French anthropologist Marc Augè, the former winner of Masterchef Federico Francesco Ferrero, who will stop playing the role of food critic to put the most usual of nutritionist physician, the theologian Ermis Segatti a Yahya Pallavicini, of Coreis, among the most authoritative voices and open to dialogue in the Islamic world in Italy. And, again, the Turin economist Paolo Biancone, the psychotherapist Antonella Ramassotto and the philosophers Franco Riva e Gianluca Garelli, active in the thought that reflects on our relationship with food.

As per traditional format, the evenings will be opened by a musical overture, by two young orchestras: Trio Kaleidos e Arturo Marquez Quartet. At the conclusion of the meetings, however, there will always be a themed aperitif curated by Sara Casiraghi of www.pentolapvessione.it. The 27 aperitif on Thursday will also see the extraordinary participation of Alida Gotta, finalist of Masterchef 2015. Friday's 28 will instead be offered by NovaCoop - Fiorfood and will be cooked by the students of the Colombatto Professional Institute in Turin, led by the chef Renato Crivello.
