FAO, a continuous struggle against waste
Ensure food safety, ensuring that everyone, anywhere in the world, can access quality food: this is the goal of FAO, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. One of the topics most dear to the Fao is undoubtedly that of the food waste. Which involve a great loss of resources and money. The data are alarming: with food wasted every year in the world, along the entire food chain, it could indeed feed the entire population that lives in the poorest countries. But not only: according to a recent FAO report, food waste also significantly affects climate, water resources, soil and biodiversity. At the Festival, talking about these issues will be Clara Velez Fraga, responsible for raising awareness and promoting the FAO at the Rome office. The panel will be the inaugural panel, on food waste and sustainability, at the 9 on Thursday 23 at the Auditorium.
