Press tour of the Festival, here is the list of trips to limited places

Press tour del Festival, ecco l'elenco dei viaggi a posti limitati

For all accredited journalists and bloggers at the Festival have the opportunity to register for the Saturday 24 February press tours.
The Festival press tours are press trips designed as moments of in-depth study and training useful for those who write food in various capacities. In principle they last a full day (9-17) but there are also half-day choices.
The press tours are free but are also limited. You can indicate your preference, but if the chosen tour is already full you will be enrolled in another tour.

Here is the list of 2018 Festival press tours

SATURDAY 24 FEBRUARY 2018

- Val d'Aosta delicious

Among the breathtaking sceneries of the Valle d'Aosta mountains, a journey dedicated to PDO excellences: from the Maturing and Marking Warehouse of the Fontina DOP in Valpelline, at the production plant of the Vallée d'Aoste Lard d'Arnad PDO, with a stop for lunch at the Arcaden restaurant, where typical regional dishes will be offered in combination with some DOP wines of the area.

- Where the fat ox is born

In the heart of Piedmont, in Carrù (CN), in collaboration with Coalvi we will visit the Casa della Piemontese, to learn about the history and techniques of selection and breeding of one of the most prized cattle breeds in the world. After lunch, based on Piedmontese breed meat and derived cured meats, visit to the Clavesana Social Winery.

- Hay, Milk & Co. ...

From the pastures to the cheese, the dairy tradition of the territory will be told through the visit of the experimental barn and the establishments of INALPI, milky-dairy company active from 1966 to Moretta (Cuneo). At the end, a starry lunch at theAncient Royal Crown of Cervere to discover the amazing cuisine of Gian Piero Vivalda, one of the most important Italian chefs.

- Gourmet Chieri

The charming village of Chieri opens its doors for a tour with the Masters of Taste of the area, with tastings of typical products, such as Rubatà breadsticks and sweet focaccia. After a lunch in the social restaurant of the Ex Slaughterhouse, which hosts a project of the Municipality for the professional integration of disabled people, the day ends with cocktails Martini Bar Academy of Casa Martini, in Pessione.

- The rediscovery of an ancient fish

The curiosity tour. The protagonist is the Tinca Gobba Dorata, the only Italian PDO fish, and the Pianalto di Poirino (TO) with its secular fish ponds. A fish that was on the tables of all the peasants of Northern Italy and that is rediscovered in this corner of Piedmont. After a visit to the fascinating tench fish ponds, a gourmet lunch based on local products will be served.

-Splendors of ... wines

A journey into the heart of the Canavese to reach the regional wine cellar of the province of Turin. Meeting with the producers of wines selected by the TorinoDOC project (www.torinodoc.com), created to promote the excellence of local DOCG and DOC wines. Lunch from Eataly Lingotto, at the wine bar of Enoteca Pane & Vino: a culinary proposal in compliance with Menu for Change, the international Slow Food campaign to raise awareness of climate change, focusing on the production and consumption of food. A starry surprise will delight diners.

- Walking with Taste

A pleasant walk in the characteristic San Donato district of Turin, to meet the Masters of Taste of the area, including bread, breadsticks, raw meat and ice cream. Final stage at the Piazza dei Mestieri, in via Cibrario, where it will be possible to visit the famous in-house craft brewery and experience an unusual combination of beer and chocolate.

- Veg cooking class with chef Simone Salvini

Didactic-gastronomic tour that starts from the elegant Diamond Costadoro for a pleasant one "Master class" on coffee. To follow, at the Work location: Central of the SMAT, an exclusive visit to the Remote Control Room which controls 24 hours on 24 the correct functioning of the water service. Finally, in collaboration with FunnyVegan, lunch at Soul Kitchen, the first vegan restaurant in Italy with a menu dedicated to raw foodists, with the proposals of the owner Luca André. Special guest there chef Simone Salvini, one of the most famous interpreters of vegan cuisine, for a reflection on the latest trends in vegetable cuisine.

-Invitation to the Castle

A day in the beautiful Castle of Costigliole d'Asti, guests of the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium and Italian Culinary Institute For Foreigners (ICIF). After visiting this jewel of medieval architecture, cooking show by Chef Massimiliano Careri, in the nearby Orangery of the Castle headquarters of ICIF. After the light lunch, tasting of some of the wines protected by the Consortium.

- Fresh lunch

An unusual journey that starts with a breakfast from Edit, an innovative gastronomic center of Turin, and continues from FreeDHOME, concept store dedicated to the gastronomic and artisan excellences of the Italian prison institutions. To follow, all behind bars for lunch from "LiberaMensa" the restaurant inside the Prison House "Lorusso and Cutugno" managed by prisoners and the result of a training project born in the 2016.

-Taste goal
After an opening by the Master of Taste Corner of Flavors, discovering zero km producers, equipped with a surprise shopping bag for the chef, will move to the laboratories of Cookin 'Factory, where in collaboration with Nikon a creative cooking and photography workshop will be staged.
