The Morrione Award will support the Festival

Il Premio Morrione sosterrà il Festival

Investigative journalism represents a difficult but stimulating challenge, in the context of information in Italy. An in-depth study of the subject could not be missing at 2018 Festival of Food Journalism, which this year can boast of the support of Roberto Morrione Award, one of the most prestigious initiatives to enhance investigative journalism, which has its base in Turin. Participation in the Food Journalism Festival further strengthens the bond between the Morrione Prize and the Friends of Roberto Morrione association to the city of Turin and the Piedmont region.

Synergy aims to promote responsible and committed journalism, because the food sector is among those that most need attention and information from the media.
On Thursday 22 February at 18 at the Festival will be presented the video inquiry "The chains of distribution", winner of the fifth edition of our Morrione award. The three authors will intervene, Leonardo Filippi, Maurizio Franco e Maria Panariello, and Gian Mario Gillio, member of the jury and of the Amici di Roberto Morrione association.
The survey "The chains of distribution" is a journey, from North to South, in the world of fruit and vegetables in Italy, to investigate the responsibility for the phenomenon of illegal hiring. Through the voices of some protagonists (buyers, suppliers, producers, academics, trade unionists and entrepreneurs), the authors have tried to reconstruct the intricate system of relations of the agri-food chain, which starts from the large-scale retail trade and reaches the fields .
