The present Piazzale Valdo Fusi, already known in the mid-eighteenth century as the isolate of the Crucifix, has a history closely intertwined with the Turin industry and commerce. The seventeenth-century Palazzo Morozzo della Rocca, demolished by bombing in the 1943, was the seat of the Chamber of Commerce from the 1871.
The construction of the Stock Exchange, at the corner of Via Cavour and Via San Francesco da Paola, and that of the new Chamber of Commerce headquarters, based on a project signed by Carlo Mollino, respectively, date back to the 1957 and 1969 respectively. The convenient underground parking which can be accessed from the square was finally completed in the 2004.
