Maria Sole Facioni, born in 1987. Graduated in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Pisa in 2011, PhD in Biological and Molecular Sciences of the University of Pisa.
He discovers that he is lactose intolerant in genetic form during the first years of university, after several clinical tests and numerous medical visits that for years have not led to any diagnosis.
The idea of ​​founding the Italian Lacto-Intolerant Onlus (AILI), of which he is President, was born from the benches of the research laboratory of the Genetics Unit of the Biology Department of the University of Pisa. AILI has now become the national reference for lactose intolerant. Maria Sole Facioni, qualified as a Biologist, has combined her passion for science with her food needs. In 2015 he decided to stay in Italy after the foreign period of his research doctorate to devote himself full time to this topic. Since 2016 he is co-founder of the innovative start-up ELLEFREE Srl, incubated at the Lucchese Technological Center, owner of the LFREE certification brand dedicated to lactose-free products and services.
Maria Sole Facioni today is the author of scientific publications and speaker of thematic conferences and CME courses. Passionate about travel, photography and cooking; with the dream of obtaining protection for lactose intolerant people and studying this important food need.
