Dissapore chooses the best Italian ice cream parlors 100

Not everyone always agrees on which is the best ice cream shop in your city. Imagine then if they are all those of Italy to be compared. Yet that's what he did Dissapore, one of the most influential Italian web magazines for food and partner of the first edition of Festival of Food Journalism.

As a matter of fact, the new updated ranking on the one hundred best artisan ice cream parlors in Italy, now a boast for Dissapore that publishes it every year from the 2011. And that, right on the charts, he created his fortune, attracted the clicks and "likes" of thousands of users in a few years.

Looking at the results, the best ice cream in Italy it is undoubtedly Emilian. At the head there are two ice cream parlors of Emilia Romagna: the Reggio Emilia terminus , Galliera 49 of Bologna. For third place we must move to Tuscany, in Pisa / Lucca, from De 'Coltelli. The ice cream parlors of important cities such as Palermo and Naples are not included in the ranking.

At the base of the method used to draft ranking there are some criteria, considered sacred both by the editorial staff and by its contributors: no bases and semi-finished products, no chemical dyes, so much attention to innovation, to the relationship with local producers, to the sacredness of a trade that is often handed down from generation to generation generation.

This year they meet again 24 new inputs, distributed equally throughout the country. Among the new entries, 4 are in the first 50 positions: Follonica, Milan, Aprilia, Civitavecchia. Northern Italy is the most mentioned area and not only holds the most positions (50 to be precise), but also occupies the first two positions on the podium. Follow the Center (with 35 positions) and the South and the Islands (which in total have 15 positions). The cities with the highest number of "top hundred" ice cream parlors are Milan for the North, Rome for the Center and Salerno for the South.

In previous editions the ranking was driven by best Italian ice cream masters: Alberto Marchetti (2011, Gelateria Marchetti, Turin), Ermanno di Pomponio (2013, former Neve di latte Rome ice cream shop), Marco Radicioni (2014, Gelateria Otaleg, Rome), Gianfrancesco Cutelli (2015, Gelateria De 'Coltelli, Pisa).
