good chance posterMany of the interventions of the Piedmont region they concern the agri-food sector: from territorial planning to agricultural policies, from research to product promotion, from the enhancement of the territory to consumer protection. For this reason, the local authority led by Sergio Chiamparino has decided to give its patronage to the Festival of Food Journalism. But not only: the Region is an active part during the event with a focus on two specific projects: "A good opportunity" and "Buy well, preserve better", on the issues of combating waste and food security, and a deepening on their own territorial enhancement policies through food products. "A Good Opportunity" (for info click here) was born in the 2013 on the initiative of the Piedmont Region and the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta as a project to combat domestic food waste. Part of this initiative UBO_APP: the antidote 2.0 against food waste, "multiutilities" application with advice on the correct conservation of food and its portioning, with the possibility of making the shopping list on "mobile" and send it via email. "Buy well, store better" it is instead an action that aims to develop and consolidate a responsible pact between producers and consumers. Based on some simple concepts: prevention, correct information, the right diet and the fight against waste. Objective of the Region is also and above all that of enhancing its territory through its excellent products. In Piedmont, in fact, tourism and food and wine constitute a highly successful alliance, which sees in rice products and cheeses, meats and chocolates, the real and the leading products such as the white truffle and the great Docg and Doc wines. own ambassadors of our region, which thanks to them is, for the agri-food sector, one of the most competitive in Europe.
