After the forced stop, following the coronavirus emergency that had forced a temporary suspension of the initiative, the Project "Tandem. Shared bike ": a competition that is giving away 100 e-bikes (2 for each Municipality) that will reward the Municipalities under 3.000 inhabitants who will propose projects in the field of circular economy, environmental sustainability or alternative mobility.
The initiative is promoted by Iren, the multiutility which operates in the electricity, district heating, gas, integrated water services management, environmental services and for public administrations sectors, and ANCI, the National Association of Italian Municipalities, to reward the proposals more innovative and capable of positively affecting the habits of citizens, but also of tourists or occasional visitors.
Projects that can highlight the "good practices" and significantly improve the quality of life, such as the impact on the territory of the project presented, the effective usability of the services arising from the project, reduction of air pollution, communication tools designed to promote the use of sustainable mobility. All for have two electric bicycles as gifts, to be used for uses that individual administrations deem appropriate.
It will be possible to participate in the "Tandem Project. Bici in Comune "by filling in and sending the form on the website www.biciincomune.it until next July 24th. Then, by the summer, there will be the proclamation of the winners designated by a special technical jury composed of representatives of ANCI and Iren, as well as by an expert in environmental sustainability.
The two IrenGo electric bicycles that will be donated to each of the 50 small Italian municipalities that will present the best environmental sustainability projects are equipped with a simple and convenient charging kit and will become, for the small winning centers, a useful tool to offer new services to own citizens.
ANCI President Antonio Decaro and President Iren Renato Boero also sent a communication containing the details of the initiative to the mayors of the Italian municipalities to which the project is addressed.
In particular, the President Decaro stressed that "with the pandemic we appreciated even more how precious the public open space is in our cities: to move, to stop, to live everyday life. Any initiative aimed at supporting alternative mobility, the circular economy, innovation, such as Iren's, must be appreciated and encouraged ".

Thanks to the partnership with Anci, the Tandem Project wants to highlight and reward the innovative and eco-sustainable projects that many small businesses in the country are carrying out to make our everyday life better ".
