The weight that our appellations of origin and our vines have in regional and Italian export is the sign of the excellence that this sector has achieved over the years. Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, are names that in the Scandinavian countries as in the United States are synonyms of great quality, of Piedmont and Italy. In these years the Unesco territories, ennobled by our vineyards and by the culture linked to them, have contributed to the tourism boom, even foreign. The Region has done its part, with the funds of the RDP and the CMO, helping the restructuring of vineyards, the promotion of wines in Europe and in the world, the entry of young forces into the world of our viticulture. This already very positive data needs to be further improved, emphasizes the regional president, linking us to opportunities, such as the Silk Road, which are presented every day to our food and wine.

The rich heritage of native and local vines represent a potential for productive differentiation, for the enhancement of regional territories and for the originality of the Piedmontese wine offer on the world market. The value of exports in the 2018 was around 1 billion, the 18% of the export of national wines, confirming that the wine sector is the strongest sector of the Piedmontese agri-food system, thanks to the great work of the winemakers, of the Consortiums protection and producer groups. Piemonte Land and its member Consortia Protection Consort intends to continue supporting them in the promotion of the denominations on the main foreign markets and to become vehicle of those unmistakable values that have made the Piedmontese wine unique all over the world. The action of Piemonte Land is also aimed at the local market: through specific training and dissemination actions on Piedmontese wine and food excellences, it intends to favor common promotional policies to encourage a conscious consumption of wine at regional and national level ".
