Altroconsumo: "53% of Italians have little faith in organic logos"

Altroconsumo: "il 53% degli italiani ha poca fiducia nei loghi bio"

53% of Italians have little faith in organic logos on packaging, and 54% say that price is not the main criterion for choosing purchases, while the 55% are willing to spend more on buying sustainable products. These are some of the results of the latest survey by Altroconsumo, the first and most widespread consumer organization in Italy, which interviewed 1625 Italians aged between 25 and 74 distributed throughout the national territory. Among the results of the study: 25% of respondents pay close attention to environmental aspects, and 50% take very much account of the local origin of food. And again: 60% believe that their eating habits have an impact on the planet and 77% buy seasonal fruits and vegetables. This is an interesting survey that monitors Italian spending, between habits, choices and mistrust, and which has calculated that the82% of Italians say that local producers should have more support to compete in the market

This study by Altroconsumo was presented in the panel «The expense that challenges» at the Food Journalism Festival. Marco Lucchini, President of the Food Bank, Lisa Casali of Ecocucina and Luigi Bonizzi of the University of Milan spoke on 21 February with Franca Braga of Altroconsumo.
