The strategic choices and regional policies in the agro-food and tourism sectors will be at the center of the participation of the Piedmont Region in the Food Journalism Festival. The Authority's objective is, in fact, the enhancement of its sector of agro-food excellence,
in all its many facets, from research to consumer protection, passing through production, the promotion of the territory, products and production chains, the fight against food and water waste, awareness of correct production and conservation systems, the promotion of healthy lifestyles. For this reason, the Region works with institutions, bodies and associations to constantly strengthen the integrated offer of excellence linked to the world of gastronomy, catering and hospitality in general, proposing itself as a unifying element also at an international level. "The new Consolidated Law on Agriculture - explains the president of the Piedmont Region, Sergio Chiamparino - contains all those innovations that Piedmontese farmers have introduced in their daily work and to which the legislation sometimes struggles to keep up, and at the same time they are taken into consideration the environmental and climatic challenges that we have a duty to face ". "In this framework law - adds water, land, landscape, quality are protagonists together with farms and the very important social role they play for our regional territory and especially for the most fragile and marginal areas".
