Stories and projects of the Piedmontese rural development plan at the Festival

Storie e progetti del Piano di sviluppo rurale piemontese al Festival

The Rural Development Plan of the Piedmont Region will be at the center of the panel on Friday 21 February at 9 am. It will be an opportunity to listen to the stories and possible projects thanks to regional programming and European funding.

The councilor for agriculture and food of the Piedmont Region Marco Protopapa will also participate in the meeting.

The RDP, Rural Development Program for the Piedmont Region identifies the needs of agriculture and the Piedmontese rural world and the initiatives to meet them through the use of approximately 1 billion euros of public funding. This is an amount available for the 7-year period 2014-2020.

The Regulation (EC No. 1305/2013) provides that rural development contributes to the achievement of 3 macro-objectives: to stimulate the competitiveness of the agricultural sector; guarantee the sustainable management of natural resources; achieve a balanced territorial development of rural economies and communities. This is achieved through 6 action priorities: training and innovation; competitiveness and income; agri-food chain and risk management; ecosystems; efficient use of resources and climate change; economic and social development of rural areas. These priorities are pursued through 15 intervention measures, in turn divided into 67 types of operations, which constitute the specific objectives of the Program, the result of a long territorial consultation, and to each of which the Region has assigned a financial endowment.
