Four weeks at the 2022 Food Journalism Festival

Quattro settimane al Festival del Giornalismo Alimentare 2022

There are four weeks left to the 2022 edition of the Food Journalism Festival to be held in Turin, at the Lingotto Congress Center (via Nizza 270) on Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June (until lunch).

It should have been the first real edition of the restart, however, for the second year in a row, it will take place on anomalous dates. Normally, we remind you, the Festival is scheduled for the last week of February.

It will still be the Festival of the return in presence without restrictions, except the obligation to wear a mask, in the hope of reviewing the success of the public and the ferment of discussion we had witnessed in 2020, the last national event before the lockdown.

This seventh edition of the Festival focuses on content, first of all on news. The common thread will be the analysis of the collective perception of information on the food universe in a period where the optimism for the restart has given way to new concerns about an economic situation of war.

At the Festival, eight researches will be presented:

  • The third edition of the “Media & Food” report, on the quality of food information available in newspapers, websites, TV, radio; with the first ranking of journalists who in 2021 wrote the most on food issues;
  • The survey by the Piepoli Institute on the correspondence between the supply of information in the media and the public's expectations on food information;
  • Altroconsumo's survey on changes in our food purchasing and consumption habits;
  • The analysis of the food raw materials markets conducted by Borsa Telematica;
  • Research on the perception of the future of food after the pandemic but with the war, promoted by the Catholic University of Cremona;
  • The sentiment analysis on agriculture and food among citizens conceived by CREA and the University of Turin;
  • The investigation on the effectiveness of food communication wanted by the Public Communication Association;
  • The growing interest of Italians in the health and science of food of Università Campus Biomedico;

The Festival will also deal with the world of fishing and aquaculture in the world year that FAO is dedicating to these two crucial sectors.

Furthermore, we will celebrate the XNUMXst of June, World Milk Day, always discussing this product on the pages of the newspapers.

Also important are the experience laboratories where we will taste unique products, we will learn little-known aspects of food, we will find ideas for in-depth services.

For journalists participating in the Festival, the Order has granted 11 training credits divided into the morning of May 31 (4 credits); afternoon of May 31 (3 credits); morning of June 1st (4 credits).

The Festival is sponsored, among others, by the Publishing Information Department of the Prime Minister's Office; by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, by the National Council of the Order of Journalists, by the National Federation of the Italian Press.
