La Genoa Chamber of Commerce organizes a contest that selects the journalist who will be the judge at the pesto world championship in Genoa.

The space at the Festival will be animated by «Taste Liguria», an educational and tasting corner on agricultural products with the Denomination of Origin of Liguria: DOP Genoese Basil, DOP Riviera Ligure Oil and DOP Ligurian wines. "Taste Liguria" is the communication program of the Consortia for the Protection of Genoese Basil PDO and PDO Riviera Ligure Oil, together with the Regional Enoteca, which offers consumers and operators in the sector the opportunity to learn about the stories of these products and the values ​​that the PDO maintains along the production chain, offering the pleasure of an inimitable food that reveals the history and culture of the territory.

Therefore, as part of the festival, the Chamber of Commerce organizes two workshops: one dedicated to a preliminary round of the World Mortar Pesto Championship, conducted by the creator Roberto Panizza on 21 February and open to 10 journalists, whose winner will be able to participate in the final. of the championship scheduled in Genoa on 28 March. The other dedicated to DOP Riviera Ligure oil, to discover the characteristics of its three geographical mentions, which can be accessed by up to 15 journalists. Furthermore, on 21 February morning the Chamber participates in the panel organized by Liguria, the host region: the Councilor for Tourism Gianni Berrino and the Commissioner of the Agency in Liguria Pier Paolo Giampellegrini will speak for the Region, and the Secretary General Maurizio for the Chamber of Commerce. Caviglia, for the Carlo Siffredi Riviera Ligure PDO Oil Consortium and the Paolo Calcagno PDO Genoese Basil Consortium.
